  In the Netherlands you need a prescription from a GP. Insurance pays for it, so it won’t cost you any money.
In some countries it can be bought over-the-counter.
Bear in mind that you can feel a little nauseous after taking the morning-after pill, while your breasts may feel tense. Other possible side effects are: headache, irregular bleeding and abdominal cramping. These pills have no long-term negative effects.
The morning-after pill has a failure rate of 1 or 2 %. If you have taken the morning-after pill but you don’t have your period at the expected time, you should do a pregnancy test.
