About
0,6 of the boys is born with a micropenis.
One
normally speaks of a micropenis if a newborn has a penis
smaller than three quarters of an inch (1,9 cm) or an adult has one that is smaller
than 1,5 inch (3,8 cm).You measure it at the top of the penis, from base (the
pubic bone) to the tip of the penis, while stretching it.
Sometimes
the cause is clear, but not always. It can for instance be the result of a chromosome
abnormality, an insensitivity of the body to male hormones, a testosterone
insufficiency or a problem related to the central nervous system. When parents
seek help in time hormone therapy may help, stimulating the growth of the penis.
If
you think you have a micropenis go to your GP to have
it checked out.
Those
with a micropenis normally enjoy sex. They get excited,
have erections
and climax like other
guys. They cannot have intercourse,
but often make up by being more creative when having sex. The worst part is that
as a child they are often ragged, for instance when showering together with others.
This can make it hard for them to accept their own body. Fortunately this is often
temporarily. Research has shown that most men with a micropenis
feel good about themselves and have satisfying (sexual) relationships.
